Powdertech Surface Science appoints Steve McCarthy as Head of Manufacturing

Steve McCarthy, Head of Manufacturing at Powdertech.

Steve McCarthy has joined Powdertech as Head of Manufacturing, bringing over 30 years of experience in the aerospace and automotive industries to Powdertech’s production team. A six-sigma master black belt and certified lean coach, Steve has played leadership roles in managing quality systems and improving process efficiency.  

For the past two and a half years, he has been working with Powdertech on a consultative basis, focusing on manufacturing leadership. Steve is delighted to now being a part of the team on a permanent basis.  

“I am delighted to be joining Powdertech during an exciting period of growth for the company. Our progress has been based on winning technical projects in niche and cutting-edge sectors – I see my role as ensuring our team grows and scales with the business.” 

In his new role, Steve will lead efforts to further improve operational performance, as Powdertech continues to implement 5S principles across the business. These initiatives aim to build upon Powdertech’s continuous improvement culture, supporting the company's growth plans and ensuring high standards are met in operations, process efficiency, and quality.

Andrew Simpkins steps up as our MP&L Manager 

Andrew Simpkins has been promoted to the position of materials, planning, and logistics (MP&L) Manager. Having been with Powdertech for five years, Andrew has demonstrated strong leadership and a deep understanding of the company's operations.  

We are proud to have a strong leadership team on board.
