At Powdertech, sustainability is integral to who we are as a business. We take accountability for efficient waste recycling, energy conservation, and are committed to making our entire operation more sustainable.
We are proud of what we have achieved so far, but we can’t do this alone. Your support and recognition mean everything to us.
That’s why we are asking you to take a moment to fill out the nomination form for the Sustainability Champions category, for the ‘Great 100 awards by Made in Midlands’, where we are nominating Phil Tyler, our Operations Director, and Richard Knight, our Manufacturing Engineer, the leaders behind our successful sustainability projects.
Our steps towards sustainable operations :
We use powders that emit zero or negligible volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and contain no halogens or heavy metals.
Powder-coated metals can be recycled with no adverse effect, contributing to the circular system.
Our powder manufacturers issue Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), which follow the International Standard ISO 14025
We were 23 years ahead of the curve by being Chrome-free since 2001. As the first powder coater in the UK to install chrome-free pre-treatment in 2001, we have extensive experience in safe, effective, and sustainable systems.
25% of the electricity we use is renewable and is generated on-site.
We introduced solar panels for electricity generation at the start of 2021 to reduce our carbon output.
We have underlined our commitment to sustainability and eco-friendly practices through achieving ISO 14001 certification, approved by LRQA.
18000 Litres of water saved and reused on a daily basis through the installation of our newly installed water treatment plant, reducing water treatment pressure on local water authorities.
Our core values are respect, accountability, and being responsive apply equally to our concern for the environment. For Powdertech, sustainability is a journey that involves every employee, every process, and every product.
