Powdertech Surface Science was part of an exciting opportunity to upgrade the Singapore Airlines Business Class lounge within at Heathrow Airport, known as the SilverKris Lounge.

Our consultative approach and close working relationship with our customer helped us to obtain the colour and finish that matched their exacting requirement. We worked up a number of test panels for the customer to view in different light conditions.
Advantages of powder coating over wet paint
Being dry, powder coatings have no solvents and therefore they emit zero or negligible volatile organic compounds (VOCs). They do not contain halogens or heavy metals and as a consequence, do not produce hazardous waste. Coating thickness and colour shade are consistent between batches.

We use high performance powders and the latest automatic powder coating spray equipment to ensure a consistent finish and we regularly invest in new equipment and facilities.
The project was wholly in lightweight aluminium components that were delicate to handle and all pieces needed labelling so that they could be correctly assembled when back on site. Our responsible quality control systems with manual checking made sure that all pieces were defect free and delivered on time.
The client was delighted with the finished result and though over ten years old, the golden aluminium panelling looks as smart today as it did when first installed.
